Artie Update: ‘Lange wants radio return’

Howard Stern has admitted that he is hesitant to allow former on-air sidekick Artie Lange to return to his SIRIUS XM radio show.

In January 2010, Lange was hospitalised in New Jersey after reportedly trying to commit suicide.

Stern later revealed to his satellite radio audience that he “wanted to vomit” while reading about the comic’s ill health.

While speaking to Rolling Stone magazine, the DJ disclosed that Lange recently contacted him about making an appearance on The Howard Stern Show.

“He said to me recently that he would be willing to come on the air and explain what happened and stuff,” Stern said.

He continued: “I don’t even feel strong enough within myself or that I’d be doing the right thing by him, because I don’t want to do the wrong thing for Artie. I just want Artie to stay alive.”

  1. So now Howard is afraid he wouldn’t be doing the right thing by Artie? Really? After all those years enabling him and using his misfortune just for a bit on his show. Howard you should be ashamed of yourself and you know it.
