Howard Stern: Nobody wanted Hillary Clinton to win more than Donald Trump

Donald Trump is all about winning. Recently his good friend Howard Stern said on his SiriusXM radio show that “nobody wanted Hillary [Clinton] to win more than Donald Trump.”

He made the comment Monday after playing a clip of the president telling Reuters, “I loved my previous life. I had so many things going. This is more work than in my previous life. I thought it would be easier.”

Stern corroborated the likely validity of Trump’s reflection, saying he was “being very honest.”

The radio host had explained earlier in the program that “I know Trump’s life. I’ve seen it up close. He’s got the kind of life that politicians want.”

He added, “Seventy-year-old guy who has made so much money—have billions of dollars—that he has his own helicopter, he has his own airplane, he’s got his hot wife. He’s got fame from a number one television show. He has the life.”

Stern then explained that, despite the downsides, the businessman probably continued running for president because he could not say no.

Stern expressed similar thoughts on his show in early February, telling the audience that Trump is “pissed he won. He still wants Hillary Clinton to win.”

CNN notes that the radio host also predicted that the presidency would be “detrimental to his [Trump’s] mental health too, because, he wants to be liked, he wants to be loved.”

Although Stern reportedly backed Clinton in the 2016 presidential race, he and Trump have been friendly over the past 20 years.
