by admin on January 22, 2013

Starting this spring, SiriusXM subscribers will be able to listen to Comedy Central’s broad library of stand up comedy and other comedy recordings.

George CarlinComedy Central and SiriusXM Radio announced this morning that they will start streaming a 24 hour channel that will draw from thousands of hours of stand up comedy from Comedy Central produced TV shows and audio recordings, such as Premium Blend and Comedy Central Presents.

No word yet on whether more high-profile Comedy Central talent, such as Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, will have a presence on the channel.

In a press release, Comedy Central announced that the new channel will include “new performances, behind-the-scenes and backstage broadcasts from Comedy Central events,” as well as broadcasts from comedy clubs, and blocs of programming that use popular comedians as “guest DJs.”

Not sure what they were thinking….but it doesn’t seem like a difficult channel to run content or cost wise.
